cpsylist: Seeking internship? Next steps

Hi, everyone. If you're pretty sure you'll be applying for internship in the fall, here are a few items for your to-do list:

  *   ?Send me, your chair (and the person covering for your chair next year, as your chair recommends) and Ellen a note letting us know you're considering applying.
  *   Talk with your chair to determine whether you're in good shape and what you will still need to do in order to be eligible to apply this fall.
  *   See the outline and pick up the forms I distributed at yesterday's meeting if you couldn't attend.
  *   Ask successful applicants in your doc sem for advice, strategies, and examples.
  *   Look at http://www.appic.org and http://www.asppb.org? and start getting your hours in shape.
  *   Look at the AAPI (internship application) and Directory (not yet updated for 18-19) and start fantasizing.
  *   Plan to finish internship readiness requirements between now and September, including scheduling your dissertation proposal defense.
  *   Fill in desirable activities (like more testing experience) as you're able.
  *   Update your CV.
  *   Consider your letter writers and check whether they are able to write you a strong letter.
  *   Start saving for travel, interview clothes, etc.
  *   Come see me if you'd like to talk!
