Research opportunity
Dear all,
We are conducting a study (IRB approved, Study ID: STUDY00006476) at Arizona State University, and the purpose of the study is to understand therapists' attitudes toward providing psychotherapy to individuals attracted to minors (pedophiles). We believe that there is a lot do in terms of child sexual abuse prevention, and your participation will be greatly appreciated.
We are inviting students (therapists-in-training) and professionals (licensed and non-licensed psychotherapists), age 18 and older and living in the U.S. The expectation for you as a participant is to answer a 10-minute anonymous survey (rating items on a scale 1 to 5) and provide your point of view. You don't need any expertise on the topic, and there are not right or wrong answers, as you will be providing your personal opinion. Your participation is voluntary, and no monetary compensation is being offered, but the content of the survey might be an opportunity for you as a therapist or therapist-in-training to reflect about the topic.
If you have questions, concerns, or complaints, please feel free to contact the research lead, Laura Jimenez (lejimene at asu.edu), the principal investigator and advisor, Terence J. G. Tracey (terence.tracey at asu.edu), or the Arizona State University (ASU) Social Behavioral IRB (480-965-6788; research.integrity at asu.edu ).
