Dear Graduate Program Directors and Graduate Coordinators,
As graduate students start the academic year, remember that Research Compliance Services (RCS) can support them as researchers in the following areas.
Protecting human subjects in research:
? Consultation to determine if the research requires Institutional Review Board (IRB) review
? Guidance on best practices and development of an application for IRB review
Training in the responsible conduct of research:
? Education in research ethics and research compliance
? Guidance on best practices for satisfying Federal training requirements (NIH, NSF)
Managing conflicts of interest in research:
? Answering questions about what constitutes a conflict of interest in research
? Guidance on complying with University policies and Federal regulations
Investigating allegations of research misconduct:
? Answering questions about what constitutes research misconduct under University policy and Federal regulations
? Service as a point of contact for anyone concerned that research is not being conducted ethically
Also, please help advertise Research Compliance Services' fall workshops and office hours!
Office Hours: Tuesdays 10am-12noon & Wednesdays 2pm-4pm
Workshops: IRB Submission & Protocol Development November 15, 2-3:30pm
How to Write a Research Plan (for IRB Submission) November 16, 10-11:30am
