We are currently engaged in a research study that examines how supervisor endorsement of stereotypical gender roles impacts supervisory style and the working alliance. We hope that the results will provide further empirical evidence of the factors that lead to a stronger supervisory working alliance between clinical supervisors and supervisees. The Internal Review Board at Lehigh University has approved this study. The IRB number is 13718-1.

We would like to seek your assistance in forwarding this call for participation to any current clinical supervisors. We realize that time is of essence for both faculty and students, and we are most appreciative of your help in this process.

Dear participant:

Matching supervisors and supervisees based on gender-related attitudes has been found to be a strong predictor of supervisory working alliance. As such, in this study, we hope to gain a better understanding of how supervisor endorsement of stereotypical gender roles impacts supervisory style and the working alliance. The results of this study will provide further evidence for specific factors that contribute to stronger working alliances between clinical supervisors and supervisees.

We would like to invite you to participate in this study on supervisory style and the working alliance. There are minimal anticipated risks associated with participation in this study. We anticipate that you will complete this survey in approximately 15-20 minutes.

We will maintain complete confidentiality regarding your data.  No individual results will be reported. You will be required to read and sign an electronic informed consent form prior to your participation. Your participation is completely voluntary and you have the right to discontinue participation at any time by simply clicking out of the browser.
