Subject: Call for Participants - Photographic Essay Project "Our Stories: Immigrants of America"
After the November 2016 elections, I started a project entitled, Our Stories: Immigrants of America<https://www.facebook.com/immigrantstoriesofamerica> depicting lives of immigrants everywhere. My goal when I started this project was through these photographic essays, we may build bridges of hope, strength and courage to inspire the people around us to see that despite our differences, we are connected and similar in so many other ways: our dreams, aspirations, our love for country and humankind.
My first post was on November 26 and since then, I've had about 11 stories, averaging at least a story a week. Early this year, the organizers of the Oregon Asian Celebratio<http://asiancelebration.org/asian-heritage-exhibit/>n invited me to exhibit at the event on February 18-19 at the Lane County fairgrounds. I've been approached by another community group interested in hosting the exhibit at the City of Springfield.
I am excited to invite you and other students to participate in the project and share your stories. I've attached a short blurb to accompany this email. Feel free to pass this on and share it with your networks. If you have any questions, you can send me an email at info at immigrantstoriesofamerica.com<mailto:info at immigrantstoriesofamerica.com> or call/text me at 541-913-1965.
Thanks again for connecting with me and hope I can get UO students to participate in time for the Asian Celebration. Ideally, I would need to photograph/interview them by this weekend.
Sincerely,
Mimi
