1. The Old Dominion University Darden College of Education is inviting
applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Human Services
tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of July 25, 2017.
Responsibilities
The individual selected for the Human Services Assistant/Associate
professor position will be responsible for teaching two 3-credit Human
Services program courses each fall and spring semester. Additionally, she
or he will be involved in advising students, engaging in scholarship and
external funding activities, providing leadership and service in the
program, and serving in the community along with professional service at
the state, regional, and/or national levels.
Qualifications
A successful applicant for the Human Services Assistant/Associate professor
position must have earned a doctorate in a human services-related field by
August 31, 2017 and experience teaching or co-teaching online classes.
In addition, preferred qualifications include:
• evidence of scholarship (especially published articles in peer reviewed
journals)
• university teaching experience with undergraduates
• experience developing online courses
• success securing external funding for research and program development
• expertise in research methodology
• a demonstrated commitment to diversity
• participation in program governance and decision-making

The human services program is a part of the Department of Counseling and
Human Services. The human services program offers a B.S. degree in Human
Services in traditional and online formats while the counseling program
offers an M.S. Ed, Ed.S., and Ph.D. in Counseling. Additional information

online format. Additionally, she or he will be involved in advising
students, providing leadership and service in the program and in the
community.
*Qualifications*
A successful applicant for the Lecturer position in the Human Services
program must have earned a master’s degree in a human services-related
field and also have experience teaching online classes in higher education.
In addition, preferred qualifications include:
· identity and experience as a human services professional
· experience teaching undergraduate courses
· professional experience in the following areas: prevention, case
management, wellness promotion, and crisis management
· experience developing online courses
· interprofessional collaboration experiences with health and human
services professionals
· credentialed by human services related organizations or boards
· a demonstrated commitment to diversity
