I hope this message finds you well, and I apologize for the cross-postings. I wanted to share information about the 2017 Psychology and Spanish Elective Opportunity (PASEO) Program opportunities. PASEO is an immersion-based language-training program in Peru designed to build Spanish skills for use in mental health settings. The program also provides seminars on cultural competencies for clinical care with Latino populations as well as training on global mental health principles. Students participate in service learning<https://paseoprogram.squarespace.com/wherewework/#huanchaco> opportunities in partnership with local community organizations, and can count clinical hours towards internship or licensure.

The program is appropriate for graduate students in psychology, social work, and related fields as well as for professionals looking to advance their field-specific Spanish skills. In 2017 we are offering two 4-week programs as well as the option to complete a 2-month practicum.
