Dear Colleagues:
I am one of the individuals tasked with responding to the 2026 U.S. News and World Report Peer Assessment Survey on Graduate Education Programs. The survey literally lists every graduate program in the country and asks me to rank them. See the instructions below.
Anyway, the email instructions I received also read that I should "call upon the expertise of faculty to supplement [my] own knowledge, particularly in answering the survey section asking for nominations of programs that are best in various specialty areas . . . "
That being said, this email is to see if anybody in the COE has input about a particular school/program that they would like for me to rank since there are many (many) programs I have no knowledge about!
Below are the instructions I am provided with. You will notice I do not need to explain my ranking or provide any evidence. I just need to select a ranking number.
Please review the entire list of education schools before rating individual programs. Identify the education schools you are familiar with, and then rate the overall academic quality of the graduate programs at each of these schools. Consider all factors that contribute to or give evidence of the excellence of the school’s graduate programs, for example, curriculum, record of scholarship, quality of faculty and graduates. Rate schools on a scale of outstanding (5) to marginal (1). If you are not familiar with a school’s faculty, programs and graduates, please mark “No answer.”
Please let me know by tomorrow (1/29) COB if you have any programs you'd like for me to rank. The survey is due this Friday (1/30). Thanks!
