Dean's Message
Dear COE Community,
This will be my last weekly for 2025, with updates beginning again in 2026. As we near the end of 2025, I want to thank each of you for the dedication and passion you bring to your work. Your contributions enable the College of Education to be a leader in academic, clinical, and scientific discovery. I hope you have a smooth end of the term and a restful winter break. I am excited about the great things we will accomplish together in 2026!
In gratitude,
Emily

Counseling Psychology 75th Anniversary Duckfunder Campaign - 75 Donors for 75 years
Help us spread the word! The CPSY 75th Anniversary Duck Funder campaign is almost over, and we still have a way to go to reach our 75-donor goal. Your immediate support will help Counseling Psychology students access the training, conferences, and professional experiences they need to succeed in the field. Every gift helps get us closer to 75 donors in honor of 75 years of the counseling psychology program.

Addressing Food Insecurity in Rural Oregon<https://research.uoregon.edu/news/addressing-food-insecurity-rural-oregon>
As the recent federal government shutdown and its effects on SNAP benefits illustrated, food insecurity affects millions of Americans. A $7 million, seven-year grant awarded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute will allow principal investigators Leslie Leve, Dave DeGarmo, and Liz Budd, along with co-investigators Anne Marie Mauricio and Stephanie De Anda, to work with families in 24 school districts.

Reminders
UO Quiet Period: December 25-January 1
University leadership encourages all units to observe the quiet period whenever possible. While the university will remain open, we ask that operations during this time be limited to essential activities. We encourage everyone to pause non-urgent emails and messages during the quiet period. This helps those taking leave to more fully rest and recharge and gives those who continue working a chance to focus without the usual flurry of tasks, emails, Teams chats, and phone calls.
