Dear COE community,

Monday marked the first official day of spring, and if you're like me, you have spring on your mind! It's hard to believe that we are winding down finals week and are headed into spring break next week. Speaking of spring break, we will not have a weekly email next week, but will be back with the COE Weekly on Wednesday April 5th.

Consistent with our focus on nurturing our COE community and sense of belongingness, we will be focusing on our COE climate survey next term. We will be reviewing our COE climate survey data in the Faculty/Staff meeting on Friday April 7th and review our college's plan for faculty, staff, and GE engagement surrounding the survey results. As we embark on the important, and possibly challenging, conversations about our climate, our community, and our overall employee engagement, I ask each of you to approach this work with commitment, care, and respect.

I look forward to our next chapter together and the work that spring entails. Between now and then, take good care. Sending you warmest wishes for a wonderful wrap-up of winter and a rejuvenation of our work together as we move into spring.

  *   SAS Office Spring Break Hours: The COE Student Academic Service office will have limited open hours during the week of Spring Break, March 27-31, 2023. The office will be open for mail pick up and drop off from 9 am - Noon, Monday - Thursday. The office will be closed on Friday. Outside of these hours, packages and mail will be dropped off at the Learning Commons.



  *   Spring Term Faculty and Staff Meeting: Please save the date for Friday, April 7th from 1:30-3pm in CSB 250 and zoom (link below) for the spring term faculty and staff meeting. An agenda will be shared in advance of the meeting.

  *   COE Dean Search Finalist Visits: In-person finalist visits are being held this week for the search for the permanent dean of the College of Education. Details about the visits will be posted on the Office of the Provost website<https://provost.uoregon.edu/search/college-education-dean>. Candidate presentation recordings will also be posted in the folder after each presentation. Recordings will be removed from the folder on Monday, March 27. Feedback surveys are available for each candidate on the provost's search webpage<https://provost.uoregon.edu/search/college-education-dean> (surveys open at 8:00am on the first day of each candidate's visit). Surveys will close Friday afternoon.



  *   Climate Survey Action Discussion Survey Reminder:  As a reminder, starting in early Spring we will be beginning discussions and activities related to the College of Education's Climate Survey Results (available here COE heat map<https://uoregon.sharepoint.com/:b:/s/O365_COELeadership340/EX6F7LMPyuNBjomE0rlaYDwBjjcJaoTWxYuC4MCi1COj5Q?e=OWpfHB>).  An email with details about next steps was shared on Wednesday March 8th, 2023. We look forward to broad discussion around these data at the faculty and staff meeting on April 7th and in the group discussions that will follow. In advance of those discussions those unable to attend or who would prefer to submit their thoughts in writing are welcome to submit thoughts via this Climate Action Discussion Survey<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cwN29jNUysms1jE>.



  *   International Student Faculty workshop recording available: The recording of the International Student Faculty workshop<https://shibboleth.uoregon.edu/idp/profile/SAML2/Redirect/SSO;jsessionid=ulhh9id06t3j1xekgkf1aylr0?execution=e1s1> that was hosted by the Division of Global Engagement, International Student Scholars Services (ISSS), and American English Institute in partnership with the College of Education on February 20th is available here for those who were unable to attend or who would like to review the content that was shared. Users will need to log into the system with their DuckID and password to view the recording. Please also see the materials attached. They will also be posted on the governance site here<https://blogs.uoregon.edu/coedocs/supporting-international-students/>. Please note that the recording was edited to remove some of the interactive discussion among faculty and staff and so will have some abrupt transitions.
