Dear COE community,
Earlier this week, the Board of Trustees announced the 19th President of the University of Oregon - John Karl Scholz. In case you missed the announcement, you can read more about Incoming President Scholz here<https://president.uoregon.edu/>. I had a chance to meet the incoming president on Monday and was excited to hear about his vision and passion for public higher education. It's clear that he's committed to fostering an inclusive and engaged campus community committed to the success of our students. It's also clear that he's done his homework and knows about us and our academic, research, and outreach traditions in the College of Education. Incoming President Scholz begins his appointment on July 1st.
As we rapidly approach the end of the term and spring is upon us, the College of Education is excitedly preparing for graduation and launching our students. Please pay close attention to the updates regarding graduation below (thanks to Lisa Fortin for keeping us organized). Thanks also to Juls Davis and the Comms Team for the fabulous commencement website<https://education.uoregon.edu/commencement> with graduation details for our students, families, and faculty/staff.
Given the COE Dean search happening this week and next, we will not be holding another winter term faculty/staff meeting. Please mark your calendars for April 7th for the next COE faculty/staff meeting, where we will be discussing our UO Climate Survey and laying out a plan for future, smaller group discussions and reflections on our climate and culture. As we plan for our future, I look forward to working to create a more inclusive College of Education that is mission-driven and relation-centered and continues to foster a sense of belongingness and shared purpose.
Warmly,
Laura Lee
Updates and Upcoming:
* Rental Regalia For Commencement: For those faculty who don't own a set of regalia, the College of Education will cover rental costs for regalia to use at Commencement. Commencement is Tuesday, June 20. The COE ceremony will be held on the lawn behind Knight Library from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. More information (such as where you line up) will be available in the coming weeks. Here is the link to order your rental regalia: https://www.uoduckstore.com/regalia-rental-form<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.uoduckstore.com/regalia-rental-form__;!!C5qS4YX3!Ar211kEft_kxHHFoFBcaYeZUPfro_pzzNYw_XviVTL_OC6n-EQBIMiP2FPye-N3f3odqqLXr-ZOoLTteUiWI0A$>. Although most of the form is self-explanatory, when you get to the 'Billing Information' block, choose bill department and enter the index CCFGEN. Please note the order cut off dates below. The Duck Store no longer delivers these to us; you will be responsible for pick up and return of your own rental regalia.

* May 15: The rental form will no longer be available, and we will not be taking any more rental requests. If extenuating circumstances kept you from renting, email orders at uoduckstore.com<mailto:orders at uoduckstore.com> to see if we can accommodate your request.
* July 3: Deadline for in-store regalia return drop-off or post-mark date for shipping regalia returns to The Duck Store Distribution Center.
