Hello,
The annual State Employees Food Drive starts on February 1st and ends February 28th.
How to donate
The most impactful way to give is with a monetary donation! For every $1 donated, approximately 3 meals can be provided to someone in our community.
Here are the ways you can support this important community fundraiser:
1. Payroll Deductions: Beginning February 1, you will be able to create a one-time, or 12-month recurring payroll deduction via this form<https://forms-b.uoregon.edu/form/launch/governor-state-employee-food-drive>. Be sure to enter College of Education name in the 'department' field. Note: Payroll deductions from last year's food drive are not rolling over; you will need to set up a new monthly deduction if you would like your donation to continue.
1. Donate Online: Click here for the College of Education online giving site<https://fflc.akaraisin.com/ui/UOGov23/t/a6e119706582443499c8fc5bfab15563> to make a donation with a credit/debit card. (Click the 'Donate' button to make a fast donation. Create a personal fundraiser page by clicking 'Join team' if you're going to make multiple donations or solicit donations from others!)
2. Donate shelf-stable food: Provide variety to pantry shelves with most-needed foods<https://foodforlanecounty.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Most-Wanted-2020.pdf> or culturally diverse foods.
* Our team food barrel is located in HEDCO 130.
* Fight student food insecurity by donating shelf-stable food items during the Student Food Pantry drive days February 15 and 22. More information to come!

Our Neighbors Need Us
* Oregon's hunger rate remains unacceptably high. 10.3 percent of households in Oregon lack consistent access to adequate amounts of nutritious food over a three-year period from 2019-21. (USDA Household Food Security in the U.S. in 2021)
* Oregon has one of the highest childhood hunger rates in the nation at 12.5% (Feeding America). In Lane County, 55% of the children qualify for free/reduced school meals (Oregon Hunger Task Force, 2021).
* Families facing hunger may not necessarily be food insecure all the time. The need for emergency food often reflects a family's need to make trade-offs between housing or medical bills and buying groceries.
Keep an eye on your inbox for more information about the Governor's Food Drive each week in February.
Thank you again for your efforts to help feed our neighbors,
