coe-staff: COE International Student Support Workshop Scheduled

This message is for all Faculty and Staff:

Dear COE Faculty and Staff,

As promised last quarter, this Winter, the College of Education (COE), the Office of Global Education, the International Students Scholars Services Office (ISSS), and the American English Institute (AEI) will be partnering to host a workshop and discussion dedicated to supporting faculty and staff who work with international students.

The session will cover:

  *   International student non-academic expectations
  *   International student academic challenges and potential solutions
  *   International student logistic challenges and potential solutions
  *   International student supports and resources
  *   International student mentor relationships

and will provide tools, resources, and helpful guidelines to assist in navigating some of the common and unique situations that arise.

The session will be held on:  Monday February 20th, 2023 -- 12:30 - 2:00 via Zoom.

We hope all faculty and staff are able to attend or to watch the recording. Faculty who are currently advising, teaching, working with, providing mentorship to International Students or who are planning to work with International students in these ways are strongly encouraged to attend and/or to access the recording.
