coe-staff: COE Finance and HR Update - Central Business Services Office (CBSO)

Dear COE Faculty and Staff,
Welcome back! Over the summer changes have occurred with the COE Finance and Human Resources units.
First, there are a couple of personnel changes,

  1.  Tracy Bullock moved to a research unit, DESTNY and Jessica Horvath took a position with her former institution, the University of Colorado. On a separate note, Brady Nittmann has permanently moved to Johnson Hall and is no longer part of the COE.
  2.  The Finance staff located in the Dean's Office HEDCO 230U along with COE Human Resources, Amy Green and her new staff member Lydia Griffin now report to shared services and not the COE directly. Very similar to the Information System centralization change a few years back.  Shared Services is a Board of Trustee's request being executed through the VPFA and Provost Offices.
Previously your transactional needs for travel support, purchasing, contracting, paying invoices, reimbursements, payroll and other financial transactions were handled by the COE Finance team. This team has merged with a larger group of similar employees to be part of an academic shared services group, the Central Business Services Office, or CBSO for short. The CBSO currently provides services for the College of Education, College of Design, School of Journalism & Communication, Clark Honors College, and the Division of Graduate Studies.
This same merge has occurred with human resources.
Former COE employees, now CBSO employees, can still be found in the same office locations providing much of the same services with some changes. Additional office locations are currently in Lawrence Hall and Allen Hall. In the coming months you will be introduced to additional new names and faces as the CBSO continues to hire and evolve.
To leverage the benefits of shared services, some roles have been realigned to capitalize on individual strengths and to fill gaps where needed. If you were working with a specific person for transactions before, those have likely changed. Instead of contacting individuals directly, please make your submissions to cbso at uoregon.edu<mailto:cbso at uoregon.edu>. Your email will then be logged automatically into a ticket system and deployed to a team of individuals who are trained to handle your specific request. You may receive services from one of the former COE staff, you are also as likely to be contacted by someone else you may not have worked with before.
