coe-staff: Criteria for Posting on the List Serve

Hello,
As we move into the academic year, here is a reminder of the general criteria we use for sharing (or not sharing) content via the list serve
Approved content for posting:
i. Academic updates and findings relevant to all faculty and leadership
ii. Research updates and findings relevant to all faculty and leadership
iii. Awards and accolades related to all or the majority of individuals on the list (faculty, staff, or students in the COE)
iv. Opportunities or relevant trainings related to all or the majority of individuals on the list (faculty, staff, or students in the COE)
v. Administrative updates relevant to all or the majority of individuals on the list
vi. Urgent or emergency updates or guidance including timely information relevant to community need that may not be posted elsewhere
vii. Messages from the dean
viii. Facilities updates
ix. Any exceptions only from the dean
What is not approved:
i. Content relevant only to a fraction of the community in the list
ii. Political content
iii. Inappropriate content
iv. Content with no substance (humor, jokes only)
v. Book announcements (sometimes)
vi. Job postings
vii. Fund-raisers
viii. Events outside of the COE (that are not directly-relevant to the COE)
You may have noticed that an email I forwarded earlier today contained some political content. This was sent in error as it doesn’t meet our criteria, nor did it confirm with state policy https://sos.oregon.gov/elections/documents/260.432_quickref.pdf.
