"Correlates of Resilience After Dating Violence in a Sample of Latinx College Students"
Dr. Terrazas-Carrillo's research explores the cultural correlates of intimate partner violence among Mexican, Latino, and Spanish-speaking immigrants in the United States, as well as Latino college students. She will present results of a project in progress focused on exploring correlates of resilience after experiencing dating violence among Latino college students. Dr. Terrazas-Carrillo will also discuss her future research directions. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation and an opportunity to provide your feedback.

About Dr. Terrazas-Carrillo
Dr. Elizabeth Terrazas-Carrillo is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at Texas A&M International University. Her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology is from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Terrazas-Carrillo's research focuses on examining intimate partner violence in a variety of contexts among Latinxs and Mexican women. Her work encompasses understanding cultural factors affecting intimate partner violence among Latinx populations, including collectivism, personalismo, marianismo, machismo, and acculturation, as well as cultural factors that are sources of resilience. She has developed and tested a psychoeducational intervention to prevent dating violence among Latinx college students. Dr. Terrazas-Carrillo has also investigated the experiences of Latinx students in group interventions, as leaders and as participants. Dr. Terrazas-Carrillo's CV is attached to this email.
