coe-staff: Central Business Services Office (CBSO)

Over the summer the College of Education finance and human resources personnel merged with the Central Business Services Office (CBSO), a shared services office which supports multiple academic units with their business transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, contracting, human resources, payroll, purchasing, reimbursements, and travel.  Please note the COE Finance and HR staff will remain in their same locations as they have been previously, the only difference is that these staff are part of a larger structure on campus now.  The CBSO is not new unit, the COE is a new addition to CBSO.

On August 8, many of you may have noticed an auto reply when you sent requests to the COE Finance email, which came from the CBSO. The reason is the COE Finance email is now directly forwarded into the ticket system for the CBSO.  The tickets system is called Help Scout, and uses email and not a portal when assigning tickets or tracking workflow.  Currently, emailing the COE Finance email or cbso at uoregon.edu<mailto:cbso at uoregon.edu> is the most direct and efficient route for your business needs. If you were emailing individual employees directly, please discontinue this practice. Tickets are assigned to a specialist and emails outside of the shared services will disrupt the flow of work.

Student Related Matters - for anything regarding students, instead of submitting to the CBSO direct email, please ensure you submit any requests for students to cbsopayroll at uoregon.edu<mailto:cbsopayroll at uoregon.edu>. This will include any new student employee requests for setup, questions on behalf of students, issuing of student stipends, and reimbursements. Student awards will still be handled through your usual process.

The remaining processes remain largely the same, just remember to send directly to cbso at uoregon.edu<mailto:cbso at uoregon.edu> or cbsopayroll at uoregon.edu<mailto:cbsopayroll at uoregon.edu>. In the near future, there will be a website for the CBSO with most procedures and additional forms available.
