coe-staff: Welcome Assistant Dean for Academic Accreditation and Operations

Dear COE community,

It is pleasure to announce that we have hired Dr. Zeni Colorado-Resa to serve as Assistant Dean for Academic Accreditation and Operations in the College of Education. Dr. Colorado-Resa is taking over the position that Julie Wren vacated on March 1st. Huge thanks to Dianna Carrizales-Engelmann and Sheree Jederberg for assisting with TSPC and licensure for the past many months!

Dr. Colorado-Resa earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas in 2006 and most recently served as Associate Dean of the Teachers College at Emporia State University in Kansas and oversaw academic accreditation for their teacher preparation and licensure programs. Dr. Colorado-Resa has held positions of faculty member of Instructional Design and Technology, department chair, director of academic technology and multimedia services, instructional designer, and K-12 teacher. Dr. Colorado-Resa has extensive experience with accreditation and annual report writing, experience with survey and assessment, experience and knowledge of educator licensure, and knowledge and experience with university and unit-wide assessment practices.

I wish to thank Dianna Carrizales-Engelmann, Lillian Duran, and Amy Green for assisting with the search as well as Richelle Krotts, Racheal Latimer, Amy Harter, and the licensure program coordinators for their input.

We are delighted that Zeni is joining our COE community! Zeni is beginning her position remotely as she and her family transition from Kansas to Eugene. Zeni will be with us in person beginning September.
