Dear Faculty and Staff,

I wanted to make you aware of some recent and upcoming trainings that will be available related to the new policy around reporting discrimination and harassment. The recent policy change was summarized well in a recent Around the O article<https://around.uoregon.edu/content/new-policy-place-reporting-discrimination-and-harassment?utm_source=ato09-21-21&utm_campaign=workplace>:

The new prohibited discrimination and retaliation policy combines many of the components of the university's former discrimination complaint and response policy and the student sexual and gender-based harassment and violence complaint response policy. The new policy consolidates employee reporting obligations, captures recent changes to Title IX and more expressly prohibits retaliation against those who file a formal complaint.
....The most noticeable change, in addition to creating a single policy, is a title change for one of the reporting categories defined in the policy. The former "student-directed employee" designation has been replaced with a new "assisting employee" designation.

Updated Workplace Harassment & Discrimination Prevention training: An updated training addressing Workplace Harassment & Discrimination Prevention will be released campus in January of 2022. New employees that started as of August have not been assigned the mandatory training, it will be included in their assignments in January.

Prohibited Discrimination Training - Resources & Policy Updates: A new online training session, Prohibited Discrimination Training: Resources & Policy Updates is now available in MyTrack<https://uomytrack.pageuppeople.com/learning/3241> (22 minutes) and reflects changes to the policy. See attached document for a brief summary of the training. All employees are encouraged to take this training prior to the end of the quarter.

Question and Answer sessions : In addition to the update training, the OICRC and Legal Counsel are hosting a series of Q&A sessions related to the policy changes and related topics. These sessions are available in MyTrack. Note: You must complete the online Prohibited Discrimination Training: Resources & Policy Updates training prior to attending a Q and A session.

Prohibited Discrimination Policy Q&A Sessions:
* Friday, October 22nd - 11:00am - 12:00pm
*  Monday, November 8th - 3:00pm - 4:00pm

Reporting Resources: For more information about these policy updates and for resources related to employee reporting responsibilities, please visit the OICRC website<https://investigations.uoregon.edu/employee-responsibilities>.
