coe-staff: "About Us" section website updates

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Juls, Emily, Meghan, Lyle, Dianna, Celeste Christie, and many others collaborated to complete the extensive website update of the information beneath the “About Us” tab (far right on our COE home page). Juls previewed this update at our last faculty and staff meeting. It looks fabulous.

There are many interesting pieces of information beneath the “About Us” landing page. The “Campus and Community” link is one such example. It provides an overview of many features of the COE building complex, including the HEDCO Learning Commons, sustainable design elements, accessibility and COE Artwork. With regard to the latter, all major pieces of art in the COE Complex are depicted, each including a brief biography of the artist (see example below).

I also recommend reading the historical timeline at the bottom of the “About Us” landing page. Reviewing this timeline provides a greater understanding of our high achieving culture and the strong foundation that has been laid for our future.

Artist: Masayuki Nagase<http://www.mnagase.com/>

Masayuki Nagase began his career at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tokyo. In 1995, he became a U.S. resident and established a studio in Berkeley. His site-specific artwork for the college is a metaphorical expression of a cycle of life.
