Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Many of you may have already seen the following statement from Andre Le Duc (Safety and Risk Services) regarding the use face coverings on campus. This applies to faculty, staff, students, visitors, and vendors. Apologies for any duplication in messaging:

Dear colleagues:

As we continue to plan for a return to in-person instruction for fall term 2020 and resumption of some on-campus activities this summer, our teams are hard at work developing new university regulations to put student, faculty, and staff health and safety at the forefront in our current COVID-19 environment.

Starting Monday, June 15<x-apple-data-detectors://48>, a new regulation requiring face coverings in all University of Oregon buildings will take effect and will apply to faculty, staff, students, visitors, and vendors in indoor campus settings. If you have regular visitors and vendors, please notify them.

We understand that this requires a big change in behavior and is a potential inconvenience, but reducing the spread of this illness is our shared responsibility. Public health experts are clear: wearing face coverings is one key way that each of us can play a part in preventing spread of the disease.

Additional information about the regulations can be found on the Safety & Risk Services website<https://safety.uoregon.edu/uo-face-covering-regulations> and rules may evolve based on new guidance on face coverings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Oregon Health Authority (OHA). Individuals who come to campus without a covering can get one from the Card Office on the ground floor of the EMU.

We recognize that you may have questions about how our careful return to on-campus operations will impact your work, learning, or research. As we make decisions we will continue to share them with you and update the Campus Resumption page<https://www.uoregon.edu/return-campus-2020>. As we go through this process, we want to hear from you. If you have questions, ideas, or potential solutions related to our resumption plans, please use the COVID-19 web form<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/t.e2ma.net/click/o0nl8c/ow4bpcb/0ty6at__;!!C5qS4YX3!WhNcNaib300-lRge-5Kg_o5Wa4k7aWfSqUb12JQobXI9aBoelBwxwfmI3RpBm5Y$> to submit your thoughts.

Finally, we are urging everyone to be kind and patient with each other as we all adapt to these new requirements.

Thank you for informing yourself about this new regulation during these unusual times. You will play a vital role in making it a success. Take care of each other and those most vulnerable, and we will get through this together.
