Dear Faculty,
I encourage you to consider applying for this program. I had a chance to speak with the faculty when they were gathered in DC last year, and I was impressed by their enthusiasm about their visits.
Regards,
Randy
The Vice President for Research & Innovation invites early career faculty to apply for the D.C. TRIP: Travel for Research, Innovation, and Partnerships. This program supports the professional development of junior faculty by facilitating interactions with prospective federal sponsors.
The overall goal of the D.C. TRIP is to support early career faculty development and increase the competitiveness of their research proposals through successful interaction and relationship building with major federal sponsors
The D.C. TRIP grant will provide transportation, lodging, and per diem expenses for a trip to Washington, D.C., from Monday, September 13, 2020, through Thursday, September 16, 2020. Participants with central start-up funds (typically those in CAS Natural Sciences) will be required to cost-share 50% of the total travel costs.
Faculty members with the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate Professor who hold a full-time appointment (1.0 FTE) may apply. Eligible faculty must have started their first quarter on campus on or after September 2017. Emeritus, courtesy, visiting and pro-tem appointee ranks are ineligible.
The deadline to apply is March 20, 2020 at 5pm. The submission requires a brief letter of interest and 2-page CV or biosketch.
Information on the program, and link to the online application, can be found here<https://research.uoregon.edu/apply/apply-internal-funding/d-c-trip-travel-research-innovation-and-partnerships>.
