I am forwarding a copy of the LEARN Coalition request for emergency research funds for IES. I am grateful to Betsy Boyd, Associate Vice President for Federal Affairs, and Emily Tanner-Smith, Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Research, for supporting our membership through advocacy, staffing LEARN Coalition monthly calls, and participating in twice yearly meetings in DC.

Our research program benefits substantially from the collaborative advocacy of LEARN.

Good afternoon LEARN Coalition,

We hope all of you are well. As we mentioned during our call we drafted and sent a letter to Congress from LEARN requesting supplemental appropriations for IES to deal with COVID-19 related issues (attached). We really appreciate the examples you shared with us on how your institutions are helping K12 schools during the COVID-19 emergency and how supplemental funding will help with research.
