coe-staff: Profile Photos Update

Dear All,

Thank you to those of you who have begun uploading your profiles and taking advantage of recent photo shoots. Improvements are already visible! As you know, Dean Kamphaus is eager to create a compelling faculty listing that engages students and gives them a sense of belonging even before they have applied to our academic programs.

Aligned with this goal, here are a few final updates and next steps about profile photos:


  1.  I know about the system glitch that is distorting some photos after upload. This problem typically means the photo needs to be resized. This fix can be accomplished in one of two ways:

     *   If you know how, you can resize your photo to a 2:3 ratio before uploading, or
     *   Send the photo to me, and my team will resize it and load it for you.


  1.  While we would like to show off all of our student facing faculty, we understand that in some cases someone may have a personal objection to having their photograph on the website. If this is the case, please contact me or Randy directly. We will determine the best approach for your profile and will remove you from our photo-follow-up list.
     *   The next photo opportunity is tomorrow Friday, Nov. 1 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in the patio area outside the café. Photos will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

We plan to review posted profiles regularly and to offer support as needed to your upload process.

I would like to provide a report on the status of the faculty profiles to Dean Kamphaus on November 18th. Please contact me individually before that date if there is anything specific I should know about the timeline for your profile.
