A COUPLE OF THE OVPRI INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNERS ARE NOW HOUSED IN THE LIBRARY. THEY OFFER SERVICES AND ADVICE FOR LECTURE AND OTHER VIDEO CAPTURE, FOR EXAMPLE, THAT FACULTY MAY USE FOR CREATING ON-LINE CONTENT FOR THEIR CLASSES (E.G., PENOPTO SITE LICENSE ACCESS, TRAINING, AND COACHING AT https://library.uoregon.edu/node/7067).
Panopto is a video platform where users can record video presentation, manage existing video files and stream them to any device. It is a powerful tool with captions, variable speed playback, searchable transcripts, embedded quizzes and more, all features of Panopto that support and enhance teaching and learning. Until now the Lundquist College of Business, the College of Education, and the School of Music & Dance were the only schools and colleges at the University of Oregon that had subscriptions to Panopto. Beginning June 14, 2019 Panopto will be available to everyone at the University of Oregon.
Beginning in September 2019, workshops will be held for instructors new to Panopto, and those interested in utilizing quizzing, discussions, and more.
Panopto Community Tutorial Videos and Articles
To get started using Panopto, UO instructors are encouraged to review any of these "get started" tutorials about using Panopto with Canvas. Note that there are both video tutorials and PDF articles for most topics. These links will open in a new tab, taking users to the Panopto Community Support site. After reviewing a video tutorial or article, close the tab to return to this list of topics.
