coe-staff: HEDCO-Lokey Complex Appreciation Event

Dear Faculty and Staff,


This past Friday evening, our college celebrated our first 10 years in our new and refurbished physical plants. We hosted most of the donors that allowed us to construct HEDCO, and refurbish the Lokey Complex to create one of the best physical plants of any CoE in the nation.


Everyone in our college contributed to the success of the event by producing a decade of extraordinary achievements. As for Friday, many individuals made special contributions - the faculty and students who participated in the video homage to the decade, President Schill and Provost Phillips, student and faculty tour guides, University Advancement, Eric Owens, Maggie Bosworth and Lisa Fortin, University Catering, CoE and University Communications, videographers, photographers, sound technicians, and editors, Andrea Olson and CoE Development, and numerous CoE staff volunteers. There were also many staff members who prepared for the event without being present such as, grounds, facilities, and custodial teams. The buildings looked as state-of-the-art as they did a decade ago.


Kristi Schneider, our Director of Development, directed and managed all planning for the event, which was a remarkable achievement. Attendee accolades for Kristi's leadership rolled in all weekend and today.


My speech for the event is attached. I do have confidence in my preview of our future. I firmly believe that our next decade will produce unprecedented instructional, research, and outreach achievements.
