I’ve had the privilege of working with Bob over the years, along with Laurie Powell, UO Center on Brain Injury Research and Training. We wanted to do something to help celebrate his retirement. If you know Bob or know someone who benefitted from his work at DRO, please read on …

Some of you may or may not know that Bob Joondeph, Executive Director of Disability Rights Oregon (DRO), has retired after over 30 years of service to the IDRC/disability community. Jake Cornett<https://droregon.org/jake-cornett-executive-director/> is the new Executive Director of DRO.

Bob has and will continue to be bold, fearless, and relentless in his advocacy.

Here are links to articles summarizing his amazing career and contributions:

We would like to invite you to join in on a collective expression thanks to Bob for his years of service. We have two options for how to contribute:

  1. Send your personal messages for Bob via email to me, Heidi von Ravensberg
hvr at uoregon.edu<mailto:hvr at uoregon.edu>. Include your name and affiliation in your message.

  1. Send hard copy (e.g., cards or letters) via campus email to:

Laurie Ehlhardt Powell
Center on Brain Injury Research and Training
Rainier Building
1244 Walnut St, Suite 220
Eugene, OR 97403

Laurie and I will organize your messages into one document/package and forward these to Jake Cornett to pass on to Bob.

Deadline: Wednesday, October 30, 2019 (…just in time to pass these on to Bob for Thanksgiving!)

Also, please forward this email to any colleagues you know of who have worked with Bob and/or know of his work.

Finally, there is yet another way to express our thanks to Bob and that is through the Joondeph Advocacy Fund at DRO.<https://droregon.org/donate/?utm_source=Unknown+List&utm_campaign=acfc7dc208-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_11_19_08_13&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-acfc7dc208-&mc_cid=acfc7dc208&mc_eid=%5bUNIQID%5d>

Thanks so much for taking the time to honor Bob’s legacy.
