coe-staff: Statistical consulting service and data science workshops at UO Libraries

Hello COE community,

I wanted to bring to your attention a new service that will be offered by the UO Libraries this year.

The UO Libraries Data Services Department will be piloting a Statistical Consulting Service for graduate and undergraduate students in partnership with the Graduate School. This service is open to any UO student, including students from the College of Education!

Students can get help with statistics, statistical software like R, SPSS and Python, research design, and GIS in Knight Library, Monday-Friday 11am-4pm or via email at dataservices at uoregon.edu<mailto:dataservices at uoregon.edu>. There will also be several data science-related workshops offered at the UO Libraries this term, including:

  *   Intro to R and R Studio (Oct. 10th 4-6pm)
  *   Intro and Intermediate Version Control with Git/GitHub (Oct. 31st).
  *   A 5-part R sequence, Master the Tidyverse (Fridays, starting on Oct. 18th at 12-1:30 pm)

Our Data Services department is also available for consultations with faculty and staff on research data management, data management plans for grants, and code management for scientific reproducibility.
