coe-staff: COE Commencement Ceremony Volunteers

Hello,
I'm looking for a few good volunteers! Help our students graduate in style by volunteering to help out at our COE Commencement Ceremony taking place at Matthew Knight Arena from 4-6 pm on June 17th. Most of the tasks relate either to checking students in, staffing an information table or helping manage the flow of students, family and friends into Matt Knight Arena at the start of the ceremony and during the ceremony. As our faculty members participate in the ceremony itself, we rely on Classified and OA staff to make this event happen. I will only put you on the volunteer list if you send me an email-I know some of you have spoken to me in passing about wanting to volunteer, but just in case I didn't record that, please respond to this email to make sure I know you want to help.

The majority of volunteers will be needed on Monday, June 17th from 2-6 pm at the arena, although most assigned tasks take only 2-3 hours and not the entire time. If you've volunteered in the past and wish to do a specific job, just let me know and I'll try to match you with your preference. Once I've collected the names, I'll put out a list of volunteers and tasks and meet with people to talk about those tasks.

Here's a general idea of some of our tasks:
Information Tables and Crowd Control-helping families and guests take their seats in the arena before the ceremony begins
VIP Seating-helping folks find their seats in our reserved seating area
Stage set up-putting out water and programs on the stage
Student Check-In-helping students get their name card and getting them in line
Line Guides-managing the student lines during the ceremony itself
