Subject: The Revised Common Rule: Workshops, Office Hours, and More
Dear Colleagues,
As you may know, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and 16 other federal departments and agencies have adopted revised regulations surrounding the protection of human research participants. The new final rule goes into effect January 21, 2019 and updates the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects, also known as the Common Rule, under 45 CFR 46, Subpart A.
Research Compliance Services has been working to update policies, forms and guidance to address these important changes. We are offering several workshop sessions to provide our human subjects research community with information and to answer questions as we make this transition:

Would you like to meet with a Research Compliance Administrator individually to learn about how these regulatory changes may affect your research? We have added a section to our weekly office hours specifically devoted to questions regarding the Revised Common Rule on Thursdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm. We are also available to answer Revised Common Rule questions during our standard office hours, Tuesdays from 10:00am-noon and Wednesdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
You can find more information and guidance regarding the Revised Common Rule<https://rcs.uoregon.edu/content/research-involving-human-subjects/changes-to-common-rule>, as well as our current applications and forms<https://rcs.uoregon.edu/content/human-subjects-applications-forms>, on our website.
All the best,
