Greetings.

As many of you know, Career Non-Tenure Track Faculty (CNTTF) annual performance evaluations are scheduled to be completed this March and are due to the COE by April 15, 2018.

Importantly, for CNTTF seeking promotion as Officers of Research (Research Assistant, Research Associate, Research Professor classifications) or Officers of Instruction (Instructor, Lecturer, Clinical Professor classifications), annual performance evaluations are a critical and now necessary component of the promotion file/dossier and process. As such, understanding and making explicit linkages between a CNTTF member’s annual performance evaluations and promotion criteria and selected documents require careful consideration and development.

To address these issues, I will be holding the first of what I hope will be several Information Sessions on Wednesday, March 14th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in HEDCO 340 to review the CNTTF promotion criteria and process and to address the linkages between a candidate’s annual performance evaluations and the CNTTF promotion criteria and process. I will also review the COE NTTF Research Faculty (with emphasis on Officers of Research series) self-evaluation documents used for the annual performance evaluations, but not as a primary focus.

The Center on Teaching and Learning (CTL) requested that I conduct this first information/work session for them, and will be given priority attendance for this session. However, if your department or research unit is interested in holding a similar information session tailored to your unit and issues, please don’t hesitate to contact me to set up such a session. All the best, Ed
