coe-staff: Governor's State Employees Food Drive 2018

It's that time of the year again!  The Governor's State Employees Food Drive kicks off today and will run through February 28, 2018.  There is one barrel for food, one barrel for pet food, and this year there is one barrel for hygiene products located in ECS by Marty Hurst's desk.  Below are listed the "food day" suggestions at the beginning of each week.  If you would rather, you can also make a payroll deduction to FFLCn (Food for Lane County), either a one-time donation or on a monthly basis, which will come right out of your paycheck!  Check out the attachment for the form.

There is also chocolate for sale again this year - dark and milk - at $4.00 per bag with $2.00 going to FFLC!  A thought for everyone.............if you would like to buy a bag of chocolate hearts but don't really want to consume them, we could donate the purchased candy to a charity here in the Eugene/Springfield area (suggestions?).  If you want to purchase chocolate, either stop by Marty's desk or you can do it at the Classified Staff Lunch on Thursday, Feb. 8th.  Exact change is appreciated!

This week's "food day" suggestions:
                Monday - Meaty Monday (canned meats, which includes tuna, chicken, salmon, etc.)
               Tuesday - Whole-grain Day (brown rice, whole grain cereal, whole wheat pasta, etc.)
                Wednesday - Soup Kitchen Day (soups, chilies, stews, etc., preferably with reduced sodium and fat)
                Thursday - Rooty-Tooty-Fruity Day (canned fruits and vegetables, preferably with reduced sodium and sugar)
                Friday - Legume It's Friday (canned or dried beans and peas)
