Please join us in welcoming Dr. Elizabeth Eckstrom, Chief of Geriatrics at OHSU, to campus next Thursday, October 25th. Dr. Eckstrom will be giving a talk on the inclusion of older adults in research. This topic is particularly relevant given NIH's new lifespan inclusion policy that will be implemented beginning January 2019. There will also be opportunity to discuss aging-related collaborations between UO and OHSU.

Her talk will be from 1-2:30 at the Lewis Center for Neuroimaging Conference Room.

Oregon Recovery High School Initiative (ORHSI), with leadership from education, healthcare, and youth treatment and recovery support systems, is launching Oregon's first public high school designed exclusively for students impacted by substance use disorders. As a school of choice supporting a positive peer culture, ORHSI's first Recovery High School will open in Clackamas County in 2019.

Please join us for a conversation with ORHSI leadership, who will share their experiences and provide an overview of their vision for this recovery support for adolescents and their families.

The Mathematics Education team at the University of Oregon is excited to host a series of talks with Dr. Robert Berry, the president of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.

You are cordially invited to join us to discuss Catalyzing Change, the 2018 NCTM publication focused on improving mathematics teaching and learning in high schools. Our talks will focus on the current state of mathematics education in the state of Oregon, the goals of NCTM's Catalyzing Change, what Oregon can contribute to this national movement, and what NCTM can contribute to Oregon's efforts at improving mathematics education.
