Educational Methodology, Policy, and Leadership (EMPL) is pleased to announce the following colloquium, part of this year's Baney Fund Speaker Series on Leadership:

"Leadership in the Community"
Ms. Leticia Valle

When:  October 25th (Thursday) 12 noon - 1:30 pm
Location:  276 Lokey Education
Lunch will be served.

As part of EMPL's newly approved LEADS (Leadership + Administrative Skills) minor for UO undergraduates, three colloquia will be held this fall exploring leadership in the community, leadership in organizations, and leadership in the university. Sponsored by the Baney Fund Speaker Series (see poster attached), the second colloquium on October 25 will host Ms. Leticia Valle, a social justice community advocate and Community Program Manager for the Blue Zones Project Initiative in The Dalles, Oregon. She directs the implementation of the initiative, where she works with advocates, leaders, and volunteers to help drive policy priorities set by the community. She is also a board member of the Columbia Gorge Health Council and currently serves as an elected official of the Hood River Public Transportation Board. Ms. Valle will speak on the theme of leadership in the community and discuss her leadership journey, including her work in health advocacy and supporting expression in other community issues.
