Subject: Career development opportunity: OCTRI KL2 program RFA is now open
Greetings,

The Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) KL2 Mentored Career Development program supports development of clinical and translational investigators to conduct interdisciplinary research. In addition to salary support and funds for research activities, scholars can access additional support services through OCTRI and the Human Investigations Program. The OCTRI KL2 program is funded through NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).

OCTRI KL2 Program Request for Applications<https://www.ohsu.edu/xd/research/centers-institutes/octri/funding/upload/KL2_RFA_2018.pdf>
Letter of Intent Deadline: Tuesday, January 22nd at 5pm
Submit LOI<http://j.mp/2QUtRt2>

Award Details: The appointment provides a maximum of $75,000 or 75% of the scholar's salary for up to two years. (It's anticipated that the scholar's department will provide additional salary support if necessary.) The award includes $25,000 per year for research and travel activities and tuition waiver for the Human Investigations Program<https://www.ohsu.edu/xd/research/centers-institutes/octri/education-training/hip-program.cfm>. At the end of the appointment, the scholar is expected to apply for an independent career development award, such as a K23, K08, VA CDA, or an independent grant such as an R01 or equivalent. Please review the RFA for more details.

Eligibility: Applicants must have a current or pending full-time faculty appointment as assistant professor (or equivalent level) at OHSU, PSU, UO, or OSU and have no prior funding as a principle investigator on an NIH grant except R03 or R21.

View full program details on the OCTRI KL2 website<https://www.ohsu.edu/xd/research/centers-institutes/octri/education-training/or-scholars-application.cfm>.

OCTRI also includes a TL1 program which is very similar to a T32. An announcement for the TL1 will be coming soon.

Please share with program staff and interested individuals.

Thank you,
Melissa
