coe-staff: Submission of annual faculty evaluation materials by April 2

Dear Faculty,

Our annual faculty evaluation materials are due for final submission to the HR office by April 15th. This deadline is a firm deadline to allow time for department review prior to the May 1st deadline specified in the United Academics Collective Bargaining Agreement.

At our Department Heads meeting yesterday, we reviewed the annual review process and found it too burdensome.  We only asking faculty to submit two documents (i.e., CV with annual year 2017 activities highlighted) and faculty activity executive summary form (see attached).  The long faculty activity report required last year has been eliminated.

For CNTTF, please submit your updated CV (with calendar year 2017 accomplishments highlighted) and a brief (two page maximum) executive summary of your performance accomplishments (see faculty activity summary attached), achievements and growth over the past year (January 1 2017, to December 31st 2017). Please email these materials to your Department Head or Unit Director, and to your Program Director no later than April 2nd.

For TTF, please submit your updated CV (with calendar year 2017 accomplishments highlighted) and a brief (two page maximum) executive summary of your performance accomplishments (see faculty activity summary attached), achievements and growth over the past year (January 1 2017, to December 31st 2017).  Please email these materials to your Department Head or Unit Director no later than April 2nd.

COE Department Heads and supervisors will be using the attached FARE feedback form (FARE = Faculty Annual Review and Evaluation) to provide their feedback on your research/teaching/service/equity and inclusion. Each performance evaluation will require a 1:1 feedback meeting with your supervisor.

Department Heads must complete all evaluations and submit FAREs to the Dean's Office for all faculty by the April 15th deadline.

For faculty who have another appointment in a research center (or other campus unit), you will also have a separate annual evaluation in that unit.

Note: For this year, as we transition into the new Workload policies (TTF and NTTF), Department Heads will also be meeting with individual faculty (likely at the time of the evaluation) to review the existing and future position descriptions and workload assignments as specified in the workload policies. More information on that process will be provided next week.
