Subject: Follow-up on COE's 2019 Charitable Fund Drive
Monday, December 10, 2018
Hello everyone,
The 2019 Charitable Fund Drive is in full-effect and I wanted to reach out to you to remind you of this amazing opportunity to help others in need. It is as easy as a click away to donate to a nonprofit organization of your choice.
What can a donation through the Charitable Fund Drive do? Donations made through the Fund Drive can support any of the 750+ nonprofits, funding their overall work in our community. Examples are:
* $4 per month donated to United Way of Lane County provides two weeks of a warm, safe place to live for a homeless teen
* $5 per month donated to Habitat for Humanity buys a sturdy front door for a Habitat home
* $8 per month donated to Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence provides two weeks of shelter for a woman escaping domestic violence
* $10 per month to the Regional Arts and Culture Council's Arts Impact Fund provides four low-income individuals with materials for a 10-week creative writing workshop - including journals, pens, workshop handouts, and bus tickets
* $20 a month to the Children's Trust Fund of Oregon supports therapeutic services for two children at risk for experiencing abuse or neglect
Each of us, or someone you know, may at some point in time need a bit of help. It is wonderful that we have this opportunity to help, especially at this time of year. Please click on the link below to sign up for your donation.
* Giving online is easy at (http://ecfd.oregon.gov<http://ecfd.oregon.gov/> and click "PLEDGE NOW").
Thank you kindly,

Subject: KICK OFF for the 2019 Charitable Fund Drive
Tuesday, November 27, 2018
Dear Colleagues,
The Oregon Employees' Charitable Fund Drive for 2019 is here!! Please do not miss out on your best chance all year to make a budget-friendly charitable donation, using the ease of payroll contribution.
This important once-a-year campaign is a great way for University employees to support charities you are most passionate about. Many University employees may not know that they have the opportunity to give to more than 750 charities working in Oregon - on issues ranging from health to housing, from social equity to the environment, from animals to arts and culture! The dollars University employees pledge today have an immediate positive impact<https://www.oregon.gov/gcfs/Pages/Success-Stories.aspx> on both Oregonians' lives and Oregon's livability AND 100% of all employee donations are passed on to umbrella organizations.
Last year 2 people from the COE donated, out of approximately 1,000 faculty and staff members. We are hoping to increase the number of pledges this year. If every State of Oregon employee gave just $5.00 a month to the Fund Drive, we could raise more than $3.2 million for our nonprofit community. It's amazing what a lasting impact University faculty and employees have when we give together!
Directions for logging in online to provide your generous donation is below. Thank you very much.

* You can designate your gift to any of the 750 nonprofit groups who participate in the Charitable Fund Drive.
* Your payroll contribution will begin in January 2019 and will stop on December 31, 2019.
* All charities in the Charitable Fund Drive are carefully screened each year to make sure they meet stringent criteria before they are allowed to raise funds.
* If you can't decide on a charity to give to, or hold a fundraiser to benefit ALL charities, you can choose the "Add Undesignated" option when you pledge online. [If you use a paper pledge form, enter code #5000.] Undesignated gifts are split among all statewide umbrella groups and local United Ways.
* All Charitable Fund Drive expenses are paid by the umbrella groups that benefit from the campaign. Expenses (always less than 10% of funds raised) are pre-approved by the umbrella groups before the campaign begins.
