coe-staff: NTTF Workload Policy Forum this Friday October 27

Dear COE Faculty,

This Friday, Dean Kamphaus will be hosting an open forum related to the NTTF Workload policy that was voted and commented on this past Spring. The forum will be hosted in HEDCO 230T 10:00 - 11:30, Friday October 27. The forum is open to all faculty and is intended to provide an opportunity for faculty to discuss the policy in its final  form with the Dean before it is submitted to Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs (OPAA).

Attached please find both the version that you received in the Spring and the post-vote, edited version that includes clarification based on comments submitted at the time of the vote. The edited version is the policy that will be discussed at the forum and ultimately submitted to OPAA.

The primary changes you will note in the final version are summarized here:


*       When possible, word clarifications were used throughout the document to address questions posed in the comments

*       The document now includes reference to workload implications for NTTF who work part time

*       The section entitled Course Equivalents was removed: This will be addressed in part by the Course Release guidance when it is final.

*       The section entitled Clinical supervision was removed: This will be addressed in part by the Course Release guidance when it is final.

*       When applicable, language and principles from the approved TTF workload policy was included for consistency. For example:

o   Course cancellation language

o   A minimum teaching load is now included for NTTF (two courses)

o   Clarifying language indicating how 1- and 2- credit courses can be combined to count towards the workload
