coe-staff: Gratitude to Brigid Flannery

Dear Faculty and Staff,


We had a small gathering last evening to celebrate Brigid's contributions to our college in her role as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.  It was an opportunity for all of us to reflect on her achievements as Associate Dean.  She organized our EDUC course scheduling to be more efficient, facilitated cross-program curriculum planning, led three decennial reviews for our academic departments, worked with her colleagues to move our NTTF workload policies forward, created an academic affairs infrastructure required to respond to new accountability and accreditation requirements, and did so much more.


Brigid entered this position during the most challenging of times for our college, when we had to create an entirely new set of systems and policies to support CBA implementation.  Because of her seniority at the UO and in our college, she also had to acculturate me and several other new employees in faculty and student services.  She served as my mentor, COE historian, and constructive critic.


Thank you, Brigid, for everything you have done, and will continue to do for all of us!
