coe-staff: Important deadline information about August and September IES grant submissions - response required if you plan to submit

Dear COE faculty,

As spring term comes to a close, many of you will be leaping into summer with a very busy IES grant writing agenda. As in prior years, we anticipate a high number of IES applications being submitted from the College of Education. For information on the specific IES funding opportunities, see  https://ies.ed.gov/funding/futureComp.asp

If you intend to apply for the traditional research, training, or partnership grant calls, the deadline is August, 17th, 2017, HOWEVER, EARLIER UO DEADLINES WILL BE ENFORCED

  *   Education Research Grants (84.305A)
  *   Special Education Research Grants (84.324A)
  *   Research Training Programs in Special Education (84.324B)
  *   Partnerships and Collaborations Focused on Problems of Practice or Policy (84.305H)
  *
If you intend to apply for either of the below, the deadlines are August 3, 2017 and March 1, 2018, HOWEVER, EARLIER UO DEADLINES WILL BE ENFORCED

  *   Low-Cost, Short-Duration Evaluation of Education Interventions (84.305L)
  *   Low-Cost, Short-Duration Evaluation of Special Education Interventions(84.324L)
  *
If you intend to apply for a Center or Research Network grant, the deadline is September 21, 2017, HOWEVER, EARLIER UO DEADLINES WILL BE ENFORCED

  *   Education Research and Development Centers (84.305C)
  *   Research Networks Focused on Critical Problems of Education Policy and Practice in Special Education (84.324N)

In preparation for these deadline, the COE, GMUs, and SPS need to know how many applications to anticipate from the COE. To this end, if you intend to apply for any of the above IES grants, for each application, please email Mercedes (mercedr at uoregon.edu)<mailto:mercedr at uoregon.edu)> with a copy of the application info sheet (attached here) and letter of intent (if applicable) by July 7.

In addition, please note some critical information and timeline details for the 84.305A, 84.324A, 84.324B, and 84.305H grants (August 17th IES deadline) and thank you in advance for your effort to follow the timeline. Of course, any information or documents that you can finalize prior to the deadlines will be very much appreciated!

Deadlines for research, training, or partnership grants



June 22

Friday

Application package available.  Letter of Intent Due (optional).




July 7 by 5pm

Friday

Application info sheet and letter of intent (if available) due to GMU Business Manager.



July 17th

Monday

Deadline to create EPCS record.




July 24th

Monday

Budget and Budget narrative due.



Aug 7th

Monday

All docs due (except final narrative and references), including:
   Prime Applicant: budget, budget narrative, abstract, current/pending support for key personnel, bio sketches
   Subcontract(s)- budget, budget narrative, scope of work, FandA agreement





Aug 11th

Friday

Draft of project narrative and references due.




August 14

Monday


Grant Application Package must be uploaded into EPCS and PI must finalize the EPCS record.   *Please note – this timeline was requested by SPS and is 3 business days in advance of the submission date.  Finalizing the record earlier is welcomed.


August 17

Thursday

For any EPCS record that has not been finalized on 8/14/17 -the PI will be required to complete a form to SPS, requesting approval to submit the application.
