Subject: WiFi Site Survey - Hedco Education Building


Network and Telecom Services is measuring the UO WiFi service in each campus area.  We would like to do the WiFi site survey in the next week at the Hedco Education Building.

The site survey consists of a technician measuring the WiFi signal from every area in the building including open areas, classrooms, labs, offices, and conference rooms.

Information on WiFi Site Surveys

o   Technician walks to each corner with a tablet measuring signal strength and signal quality

o   Takes approximately 30 seconds per room

o   Will not enter active classrooms, occupied conference rooms, and office room meetings.  The technician will return when unoccupied.

o   The technician will have a Network Services badge when performing the site survey

The finished building site survey gives us an accurate measure of coverage within each building and helps with planning and design.
