Dear Faculty and Staff,

I am pleased to announce that Stephanie Shire will be joining us as an Assistant Professor this September in the Special Education and Clinical Sciences Department.  Stephanie graduated in 2013 with a Ph.D. in Human Development and Psychology from UCLA.  Since that time she has served as a post-doctoral scholar in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry, and as a volunteer trainer for the World Health Organization where she has conducted Autism-related training in Japan, China, Korea, and Macedonia.  

Stephanie's research career is centered on community based intervention and communication skill development for children with Autism.  She has 21 journal articles, 4 book chapters, and 1 book to her credit.  A sampling of Stephanie's recent research works include;
