Hi Everyone,
I'd like to let you know about the Community Needs Assessment activity
that takes place at the HEDCO Education building today from 11:00 am to
8:00 pm and tomorrow from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. I work with Dr. Denise
Thew Hackett at Western Oregon University, and she's a lead researcher
on Community Needs Assessment, a survey designed for deaf and hard of
hearing people to share experience using services relating to education,
employment community, and health in the state of Oregon.
This is a grant-based research through Oregon Association of the Deaf
and Oregon Department of Human Services. The goal is to gather
information from deaf and hard of hearing people about their experience
using the services and to share information with the state government.
The participants who want to participate the Community Needs Assessment
survey will arrive here from Eugene and surrounding communities, such as
Junction City, Cottage Grove, Springfield, Thurston, and others.
For your information, some of the classrooms at the HEDCO Education
building as well as the conference rooms in the CDS / CYHS departments
are reserved for the Community Needs Assessment survey.
If you have any questions and/or concerns, feel free to contact me.
