coe-staff: appointment of Professor Chris Murray as Director of the UO Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD)

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to support the recommendation of the UCEDD management team to appoint Chris as the new UCEDD director. Having had the opportunity to work with Chris closely in his role as department head, I am keenly aware of his competencies a leader. Of course, Chris stands on the shoulders of his predecessors, including Jane Squires, the current director. Jane has ensured the excellence of our UCEDD, providing Chris and all UCEDD colleagues with a strong foundation upon which to build.


The formation of UCEDDs dates to the Kennedy administration. I have fond memories of the importance of their work having served as a practicum student at a UCEDD in the late 70s. I recommend that you visit their website to learn more about their important services (http://www.uoucedd.org/).
