The Department of Education Studies has acquired two sets of a unique and original book series called "Cuentos para dormir." These are original children's books written by deported parents living in Tijuana, Mexico for their children who are living in the USA. They tell personal stories of deportation and family separation. We are the first and only university in the USA and Mexico to have a set of these books. This event is a lecture by Sophia Sobko, the teacher who helped the parents with the writing process and the publishing of the books. In addition, the parents will be broadcast in from Tijuana, Mexico to discuss their books and to discuss issues of deportation and family separation.
