March 7th, 2016
8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Ford Alumni Center
University of Oregon

The second-annual Showcase Oregon will focus on the theme of justice as it relates to the intersectional identities of race, gender and faith. Our hope is that this year's theme will allow our campus and surrounding community to reflect on the multifaceted meaning of justice in the academy and beyond and the ways in which empowered women facilitate justice by using their skills, talents and wisdom to transform lives and institutions.

In addition to hearing from women academics, entrepreneurs, community activists and higher education leaders, the one-day symposium will feature a breakfast panel on student activism as well as a Teach In on the Movement for Black Lives over lunch by Professor Brittney Cooper, Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies and Africana Studies at Rutgers University and Co-founder of the Crunk Feminist Collective. The closing reception will include a call to action by Dr. Belle Wheelan, President of Southern Commission on Colleges and a poster session by local student activists.

Showcase has something for everyone. All faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members are encouraged to attend. A description of the panels, panelists and their bios is posted on our website.

The event is free and open to the public.

The deadline for registration has been extended to Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016!
