coe-staff: Senate Nov 11 notes

Hi Colleagues - Here are brief notes from last week's Senate meeting.  The agenda for the meeting is here: http://senate.uoregon.edu/content/senate-meeting-agenda-november-11-2015 .  You'll see that #4.5 is an interesting motion concerning the charge of the Faculty Advisory Committee, an elected committee that falls under the Senate's charge.  The motion also provides for a permanent exemption from the open meeting provisions of the Senate.  My notes provide an overview of the positions of those who spoke in favor and against the motion. The interesting irony is that Senate VP Bill Harbaugh (aka The Blogger) sponsored the motion and favored the committee remaining confidential.  The discussion went on until a quorum was lost so it will be revived next month.
