I’m sending this message to a number of the building managers on campus.

The University is working with Verizon and AT&T to improve cellular coverage across campus.  On Thursday and Friday next week (9/17-18) Mike Smith, an RF Engineer working with Verizon and AT&T, will be completing a coverage survey with backpack mounted equipment that measures cellular signal strengths.  For many areas he will just need to walk the hallways to take the measurements.  Some larger rooms (classrooms, common areas, cubicle areas, etc) will also be walked during this process.  The larger buildings will take a couple hours.  The smaller buildings less time.

The buildings to be surveyed include:

Alder Bldg
AAA Wood Shop
Clinical Services
Collier House
EC Cares
Beal/Frohnmeyer
Lokey Education Complex  A,B and C
Straub Hall
Student Rec

In general, Mike wont need any assistance from building occupants.  I will contact building managers individually if there are any special access issues we need to work through.  Please contact me with questions or if there is activity in these buildings that we need to coordinate around.
