Educational Methodology, Policy and Leadership (EMPL) is pleased to announce the following colloquium:


Oregon Educational Investment Board (OEIB) presents: From Educational Research to Equitable Policy
Peter Tromba, Dr. Cheng-Fei Lai, and other key figures in the OEIB will present. Lunch will be served prior to their colloquium.



When:  Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Presentation: 11:30am - 1:00pm

Location:  Lokey 119

Lunch will be provided: 11:15am


Tromba, OEIB's Policy and Research Director, and Lai, OEIB's research analyst who received her doctorate from EMPL, will describe how educational research affects state policy development. Topics will include:
*             How OEIB makes sense of emerging educational initiatives
*             Applying Oregon's Equity Lens to the OEIB research agenda
*             The P-20 State Longitudinal Data System for Education and its potential for education research
*             Disproportionate racial/ethnic identification in early intervention and special education
*             Collaborative development of evaluation frameworks for Oregon's multi-sector collective impact initiatives (Regional Achievement Collaboratives and STEM Hubs)
*             Potential uses of social network analysis to study collective impact initiatives and culturally responsive professional development
*             Chronic absenteeism using group-based trajectory modeling
*             Asset-based community engagement
*             An evaluation model for a statewide early literacy campaign
*             The Oregon Quality Education Model
