Please see below the notification from Campus Ops for electrical transfer switch testing at HEDCO on Tuesday March 24 between 7:30am-8:30am.  Having been through this specific testing for three years now, we do not expect any interruption in service.  However, as a precaution, we suggest turning off all electronic devices such as computer and printers the evening prior  to the testing.  While the testing is scheduled to between 7:30am-8:30am, we will most likely be done by 8am and will notify the occupants shortly thereafter.

I will send out a reminder of this event on Monday March 23.

TO:                THE BUILDING USERS OF:  Oregon, HEDCO, Streisinger, Lillis, Onyx, Knight Library, JSMA, Allen

FROM:           Debbie Cadigan, Campus Relations Manager, Campus Operations

SUBJECT:     Standby & Life Safety Power Transfer Switch Testing

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, March 23rd, 24th, 25th a contractor will perform our annual ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) testing on the life safety and standby power transfer switches in your building. Your building will be tested March 24th. See schedule below for specific times.

The contractor transfers from normal power source to standby and then back. There is a possibility of a small blip on the standby power of no more than 10 seconds when the transfer occurs each way. Normal lighting and power is not tested and should not be affected unless it's inadvertently tied into the standby power.

Life safety transfer switches can affect emergency lighting in stairwells, hallways and the fire doors may close, although they will continue to operate manually. Fire panels will continue to operate and will be re-set after testing and the fire doors will be re-opened.
